We know that the power of prayer can be seen daily in our
lives. It gives us hope and direction, and it fills our hearts with
God's love. "Prayer is the Christian's vital breath, the
Christian's native air, Lord, teach us how to pray!" These
words, taken from the hymn "Prayer Is the Soul's Sincere Desire"
in our United Methodist hymnal, really sum up what prayer means to us as
Christians.
We pray for:
Our country and its leaders
Our church leaders
Our troops, both home and abroad
The ministries of our church
Our youth and children
RUMC Bible studies
Firefighters, police and rescuers
Prayer request cards are
available for your use. They are blue for concerns and yellow
for joys and are located on the shelf in the church narthex. You are
welcome to fill out your request cards and give them to an usher at a worship
service.
Our special Prayer Chain ministry at Ramona UMC is
activated by telephone or email when there is a need for individuals or situations
to be lifted in prayer. We find comfort and encouragement as we share all
kinds of requests and praises to the Lord together. It is our prayer
that we represent Jesus Christ humbly in a way true to God's revelation in
the Bible. Make prayer chain requests by calling Ethel or Cynthia.
Partners in Prayer: This
group prays daily for the pastor, the church leadership, and the church.
Women's Prayer Group meets Thursdays 6:30-7:30 a.m.
at McDonald's restaurant for a light breakfast. We share a Christian study and prayer concerns. All are
welcome.
Prayer
builds up Christ's body, the church.
If
my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray,
and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
